What are people most likely to die from?

By age, sex and country — from official death and population statistics for 37 countries in Europe and North America. Every number is computed from them, and each country is checked against its official life table. Where a country publishes deaths by age and by cause but not the two together (Belarus), the split by cause is our estimate — and labelled as such.
